About Eugene DePriest Jones, III
A member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), Gene is currently serving as Human Resources Generalist, Oklahoma County Human Resources Department for the Board of County Commissioners in Oklahoma County. Prior to that time, he spent the majority of his career as a member of management in the healthcare industry.
A graduate of Saint Louis University, and a proud “Billiken”, Eugene began his career in Human Resources management as an Employment Manager and later HR Manager with Saint Louis University Hospitals (a.k.a. Saint Louis University Health Science Center), St. Louis, MO.
While serving at St. Louis University Hospitals, Gene became one of the central figures in the consolidation of all human resource functions for the entire medical south campus at St. Louis University (i.e. Hospital Division, School of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy; Allied Health Sciences, and the Division of Molecular Virology.
Gene enjoyed successive advancement over the next few years with several hospital-based companies, including a number of (HCA) Hospital Corporation of America Affiliates; and served as a corporate vice-president for human resources for Deaconess Healthcare Services, Inc., St. Louis, MO, a hospital-based company.
Gene has also served in various roles and leadership capacities for numerous professional healthcare organizations, as well as private industry and public sector human resource employer councils. Gene has been a guest speaker for numerous HR professional organizations, and has served more recently as a member of the OKC Metro Employer Council Board of Directors; and has been involved in co-facilitating a number of Professional Development Network Sessions for the Council.
